We’re Anna and James

We have been traveling on a budget since 2018

On our first date I told James I had plans to go on a solo trip to Southeast Asia and asked if he wanted to come along. We’d been together just three months when we visited Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. It was a whirlwind of Hawker Centers, elephants, budget air travel. I don’t know if it was the tattoos we got in Chiang Mai or those humid nights spent walking around Penang, but we’ve been adventuring together ever since.

Our travels have been made possible by budgeting carefully and doing thorough research. We’ve learned a lot about utilizing credit card points, finding deals, and living within our means.

We are both employed full time and have to be strategic about when we travel. Our ultimate goal is to create content full time so we can consistently share what we learn with all of you.

Whether it be popular spots or gems found off the beaten path – we want to teach you everything we know.

Come along and get away with the Mays!

Anna

I’m a first generation college grad. My first time stepping on a plane was at the age of 21 when I traveled to Japan. I moved to Hiroshima after graduate school and stayed for a few years. After returning to the U.S I found my niche in Higher Education and continue to find ways to travel. I love planning and learning about what we are going to go. If we’ve gone somewhere, I’ve got Google Docs about it.

James

I took my first steps on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina while camping with my family, and I’ve loved the outdoors and traveling ever since. My first big trip abroad was to Serbia and the UK when I was 17. I have a degree in tourism management, and talking about budget travel is one of my favorite things. I am on several missions, including finding the best craft beer in the world and maximizing our credit card rewards.
